Perl/Linux project
Some people really have too much time on their hands :) So, there is something called Perl/Linux. This is a Linux distribution where ALL programs are written in perl. From the website The only compiled code in this Perl/Linux system is: Linux Kernel (not currently built with this project), perl, and uClibc..
Something funny to read is why we should call this system Perl/Linux and not Linux.

"Making it simple for users to walk away from a Google service with which they are unhappy keeps the company honest and on its toes, and Google competitors should embrace this data portability principle, Eric Schmidt said at the Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco."
